A NURSERY RHYME CONCERNING THE APOCALYPSE:
Deaf Sheep:
Fire falls from yonder sky,
As fathers weep and children cry,
As all God’s creatures curl and die,
As Earth herself heaves one last sigh,
And Darkness comes for you and I.
With the Coming of the Snake,
Who once mocked Him upon the Stake,
His power usurped, His world to take;
Fears awake as cities shake,
At Heaven’s tumble, fall and break.
Our Shepherd walked beside deaf sheep,
Our promises we failed to keep,
Cast are we now, unto the Deep.

As all God’s creatures curl and die,
As Earth herself heaves one last sigh,
And Darkness comes for you and I.
